Research Projects

At the University of Kigali, research is a cornerstone of our mission to foster innovation, advance knowledge, and drive sustainable development. Our research projects span diverse disciplines including agriculture, climate change, logistics and supply chain management, electric mobility, digital transformation, and public health.

At the University of Kigali (UoK), research is more than academic inquiry—it's a vehicle for societal transformation. Our projects are designed to solve real-world challenges, support national development priorities, and advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This page offers a window into our dynamic and interdisciplinary research ecosystem.

This page highlights ongoing and completed research initiatives led by our faculty, students, and partners. These projects address national and regional development priorities while contributing to global knowledge networks. From smart irrigation systems that support smallholder farmers to studies in financial inclusion, green energy, and technology-driven learning, our research is anchored in real-world impact.

Through collaboration with government agencies, industry partners, and international
institutions, the University of Kigali is shaping policy, improving livelihoods, and preparing the next generation of researchers and innovators. We invite you to explore our featured projects, connect with our research teams, and learn how we are building a more sustainable, equitable future through academic excellence.
