THEME: “Sustainable Innovation in an Era of Global Transformation: Research, Practice and Policy”

The International Conference on Green and Sustainable Development (ICGSD) 2027 invites thought leaders,
researchers, innovators, and changemakers to engage in transformative conversations around the future of
sustainability.

With a focus on Sustainable Innovation through the integration of indigenous knowledge systems,
emerging technologies, and Afrocentric innovation, the three-day event provides a dynamic platform for cross- sector collaboration and actionable dialogue.

VENUE: Kigali Serena Hotel

The 2027 international Conference on Green and sustainable Development will be hosted at the Kigali Serena Hotel, a landmark property, in the heart of Rwanda’s capital, just five minutes from the Central Business District and 20 minutes from Kigali International Airport. Combining modern comfort with Rwandan heritage, the hotel offers a secure and serene retreat for diplomats, executives, and leisure travellers.

Conference Dates: March 8th - 11th, 2027

The conference aims to raise awareness on the following Sustainable Development Goals:

  • SDG 1: NO POVERTY:
    Promote sustainable development projects that creates jobs and reduce poverty.
  • SDG 2: ZERO HUNGER:
    Encourage the adoption of green technology/methods to reduce food waste.
  • SDG 7: AFFORDABLE AND CLEAN ENERGY
    Energy Efficiency:
    Utilise energy-efficient lighting and equipment
    throughout the venue.
  • SDG 11: SUSTAINABLE CITIES AND COMMUNITIES
    Green Transportation:
    Promote the use of public transportation,
    bicycles, and electric vehicles for the conference.
  • SDG 12: RESPONSIBLE CONSUMPTION AND
    PRODUCTION:

    • Zero Waste:
    Encourage reusable or compostable materials and
    reduce plastic use.
    • Eco-Friendly Materials: Use recycled paper for conference materials.
    • Sustainable Catering: Provide locally sourced, organic, and vegetarian/vegan meal options
