Strengthening Strategic Partnerships in Africa- Palm University Delegation Visit to the University of Kigali

Our university was honored to host a high-level delegation from Palm University, Ghana, comprising the President of Palm University and two senior Professors, for a three-day staff mobility engagement.
This visit represented an important step toward Strengthening Strategic Partnerships in Africa- Palm University Delegation Visit to the University of Kigali. The visit formed part of the ongoing efforts to expand institutional partnerships, foster academic exchange, and strengthen leadership collaboration across African higher education institutions.

The delegation was warmly welcomed by the Director of International Affairs and partnerships (DIAP) followed by a campus tour and a meeting with Vice Chancellor, Prof. George Kimathi, who highlighted UoK’s strategic direction and future priorities.

Key activities included:

  • UoK Institutional Overview led by CPA Dorcas Kamau
  • Academic Overview by Prof. Adeola Ogechi
  • Remarks and goals of the visit shared by the Palm University delegation
  • A Comprehensive Research & Innovation presentation by Dr. Ronald Kwena
  • Insightful discussions on the Palm University Leadership Roundtable Model
  • A joint roundtable on best practices and potential areas of collaboration

The day’s engagements reinforced the shared commitment to innovation, leadership development, and strengthening quality education across African universities.

Day 2 brought rich academic interactions through parallel student-focused seminars on Leadership, Innovation & Strategic Management Session, facilitated by Palm team for our SBME students.

Other highlights included:

  • A powerful session where the President of Palm University shared his entrepreneurial and leadership journey, offering practical lessons on building impactful higher education institutions.
  • Exchange on Palm University’s Honour System, Examination Honour Code, and Liberal Arts Curriculum, providing insight into governance and integrity models.
  • A benchmarking session between Palm University and UoK Deans/HoDs, focusing on aligning academic practices and opportunities for future faculty collaborations.

                                                     

 

The final day focused on engagement with the School of Business Management and Economics (SBME) Team

 

The mobility concluded with a group photo session, symbolizing the beginning of a strengthened partnership between UoK and Palm University.
