Rwanda Writers Federation Award Ceremony

The Rwanda Writers Federation held a prestigious award ceremony on April 4, 2025, at the iconic Intare Conference Arena, celebrating excellence in literature and creative writing. The event brought together aspiring and established writers, academics, and literary enthusiasts nationwide and beyond.

The University of Kigali stood out among the participating institutions, receiving multiple recognitions for its outstanding contribution to promoting literature and nurturing young talent. Notable among the awards received were:

 1. The University of Kigali’s international students, participating for the very first time, were honored for their remarkable entry in the competition, marking a milestone in fostering global student participation. The student is Achitak Manguen Dut

2. The University Cup – Awarded to the University of Kigali for its efforts in providing students with access to a wide range of books, which played a crucial role in enhancing their research and creative writing skills

3. Participation Certificate—The university was awarded a special certificate for consistently participating in every cohort of the Rwanda Writers Federation competitions since their inception.

These accolades highlight the University of Kigali’s dedication to literary excellence and its continued support for student engagement in creative platforms. The institution’s efforts are not only shaping skilled writers but also contributing significantly to Rwanda’s growing literary culture.
