Charles is the Director of School of Professional and Executive Programs with over 15 years’ experience in training and Management of Professional Accountancy and Finance programs. Charles currently leads the University in a project of training of Government Accountants and Auditors in Rwanda. The project is funded by World Bank through Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning in Rwanda.
Prior to joining University of Kigali in January, 2018 as the Director School of Accountancy (Currently Director School of Professional and Executive Programs) he worked as a Project Coordinator and Director of Studies at Cornerstone and Luthien Advisory Ltd Rwanda which is a firm involved in training Governement Accounatnts and Internal Auditors in Rwanda (2016 – 2017).
Charles has also previously been a Lecturer (training both academic and professional courses) and Head of ACCA program at KCA University, Kenya for 5 years (2012 -2016).
Charles has offered advisory services spanning financial planning, budgeting, Capital Structure of organizations, financial distress and corporate failure and Financial Reporting assistance to clients across different sectors in East Africa.
Charles has also facilitated in training Corporates in Risk Managment, Debt Recovery and Credit Analysis, International Financial Reporting Standards, financial distress and corporate failure in Rwanda and Kenya.
Charles has been involved in development of University Business Plan for both debt and equity funding. Took the lead in the University Business Valuation.
Charles holds an MBA in Finance and Project Management and BSC in Applied Accounting. He is currently pursuing PhD in Finance. He is also having Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) certificate.
