The event brought together brilliant minds from universities across Rwanda, each presenting innovative solutions aimed at driving sustainability and meaningful impact.

Hosted by North West University Business School, the showcase provided a platform for young innovators to present cutting-edge prototypes addressing pressing environmental and societal challenges.

A Soil Testing System powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT) emerged winner. The prototype has the potential to transform modern agriculture by enabling real-time soil health monitoring, optimizing resource use, and promoting sustainable farming practices.
Each innovation was evaluated based on three key dimensions: Impact – The potential to drive large-scale economic, social, or industrial transformation with tangible benefits; Green Innovation & Sustainability – Commitment to eco-friendly solutions and minimal environmental footprint; SDG Alignment – Strong linkage to one or more United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), showcasing innovative approaches to global challenges.
Oarabile Manyaapelo CA(SA) RA, Manager of the Small Business Advisory Bureau (SBAB), delivered a compelling presentation on Agripreneurship for Job Creation and Food Security in South Africa. He emphasized the role of agricultural entrepreneurship in tackling unemployment, ensuring food security, and fostering economic resilience.

Morné van den Bergh, Manager of Executive Education, shared thought-provoking insights on the role of managerial development in leadership growth, optimizing organizational processes, and achieving strategic business success. His presentation underscored the necessity of effective leadership in building sustainable enterprises.
