University of Kigali on Wednesday 19th April, 2023 hosted Richard F. Chambers, the Former Global CEO of Institute of Internal Auditors at UoK Kigali campus for a public lecture to Undergraduate and Professional courses students on Internal Audit.
The lecture by Mr. Chambers covered the following aspects of audit: Essence of Internal Audit, Comparison of Internal Audit to External Audit, Attributes of great Internal Audit, Internal Audit Careers and Audit Priorities in 2023.
In welcoming the CEO for the lecture, University of Kigali’s Vice – Chancellor, Prof. David Wangombe stated that internal audit is as important in the management of the University as it is in helping other organizations accomplish their objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluating and improving the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes.
Also in attendance was Mr. Richard K. Rutuku who is the Chief Executive Officer of the Institute of Internal Auditors, Rwanda.
Also in attendance from University of Kigali were the Director School of Professional and Executive Programs, Charles K. Omanyo and the Head of Department – Accounting and Finance in the School of Business, Management and Economics, Mr. Stephen Kimuya.
