This week, the University of Kigali’s Entrepreneurship and Business Centre (EBC) led by Ruth Mbabazi hosted an electrifying workshop focused on capacity building for aspiring student entrepreneurs, in partnership with Equity Bank. Under the transformative theme “Educate. Empower. Innovate. Excel,” this event aimed to equip students with the vital skills and knowledge needed to become trainers of trainers for startups across Rwanda and beyond, it was officiated by UoK Vice Chancellor Prof. George Kimathi Blessed by DVC-IDRI Prof.Felix Maringe.
Highlights of the Workshop:
- Expert-Led Sessions: Industry leaders and successful entrepreneurs shared their insights on effective business strategies, sustainable practices, and the importance of innovation in driving business growth. Participants were inspired by motivational talks that not only highlighted challenges but also provided actionable solutions.
- Interactive Learning: The workshop included hands-on sessions where students engaged in real-time problem-solving and collaborative brainstorming. Attendeeswere empowered to think creatively and develop tailored solutions for emerging market challenges.
- Networking Opportunities: With a focus on building connections, students were given the chance to network with seasoned entrepreneurs and industry experts. This facilitated valuable exchanges that are crucial for nurturing mentorship and future collaborations.
- Trainer of Trainers Model: The heart of the workshop revolved around developing a new generation of trainers equipped to guide startups. Selected student attendees who excelled during breakout sessions will be mentored to become future facilitators, ensuring that the commitment to fostering entrepreneurship continues to expand throughout Rwanda and Africa.
