During a recent gathering convened by the Ministry of Education alongside various education stakeholders, Minister Joseph Nsengimana articulated that advancing higher education in Rwanda necessitates a comprehensive and strategic approach. He underscored the significance of enhancing the quality of teaching, broadening access, and promoting innovation within the sector.
To realize these objectives, he advocated for investments in contemporary infrastructure, ongoing professional development for educators to adhere to global standards, and a robust encouragement of research and development initiatives.

Moreover, Minister Nsengimana noted that establishing partnerships with international institutions would be instrumental in fostering knowledge exchange and capacity building. He also emphasized the importance of increasing scholarships and financial assistance for students from diverse backgrounds, ensuring that higher education remains accessible to all. This inclusive approach would empower a new generation, enabling them to make meaningful contributions to the socio-economic advancement of the nation.
In a statement, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kigali proposed to the Government of Rwanda through the Ministry of Education to consider utilizing idle capacity in private universities by Sponsoring students to join those universities.
