Kigali Main Campus

Our main campus is located at Prester House in Kacyiru near Kigali Heights and the Kigali Convention Centre, approximately 3  kilometres from the Kigali City Centre. The campus hosts about 8,000 students in three flexible sessions – Day, Evening and Weekend.

Our Kigali campus boasts world-class facilities such as high-tech computer labs, smart classrooms and well-stocked libraries. The campus is located in a serene environment with parks and activity areas.

Construction is underway for University of Kigali’s permanent campus located at Kimihurura, a vibrant and culturally rich Sector in the Kigali Province of Rwanda. The new state-of-the-art UoK campus will accommodate over 12,000 students and staff, and have modern classrooms, hostels, laboratories, technology, library, offices and other facilities for enhanced teaching and learning.

The new UoK campus will present an extraordinary opportunity for the University to enhance its academic distinction by housing premier departments, schools, programmes, offices and hostels in support of its commitment to world-class educational service delivery, diversity and inclusion, strengthening student-facing academic services and resources, as well as showcasing its vibrant intellectual community through signature facilities and gathering spaces.

Additionally, the new campus’ location in Kimihurura will give UoK a highly-visible presence in the central part of Kigali and facilitate the execution of the university’s responsibility in serving as a connector for scholarly, research, innovation, professional and educational partnerships with other institutions across Kigali, Rwanda and East Africa at large.
